Sustainability & Community
Sustainability Commitment:
Milbank have a passion and firm commitment to ESG practices. They acknowledge that within their portfolio they have businesses that are harmful to the environment, however they believe that under their custodianship they can improve and accelerate their sustainability with greater effect, and at the same time influence others to follow. They pledge to use the resources they have – their businesses, their investments, their voice and their imagination – to lead by example.
Milbank Group’s guiding principles:
- Reduce environmental and social impact
- Balance decisions with an understanding of their environmental and social impact
- Collaborate with customers, suppliers, competitors and other key stakeholders to reduce their environmental and social impact
- Reduce health and safety risks
- Support local communities to survive and thrive
- Act with integrity by respecting people and human rights

Community:
Beyond their environmental successes, their communities remain a priority. Commencing in 2024, they are exceptionally proud that each of their businesses will contribute a minimum of 2% of their profits to support good causes.
Supporting the communities in which they operate is a core objective within the Group’s overall strategy, from offering local employment to supporting schools, sports clubs, charities and other causes.
This dedication isn’t just a philanthropic endeavour; it is a fundamental aspect of their ethos. By sharing their success, they aim to foster positive change, champion education, and enhance the areas in which their people live and work.
On Purpose Programme
Milbank believe that socially and environmentally focused business models can help solve society’s toughest problems, which is why at the start of 2023, they began their journey with On Purpose.
On Purpose believe in putting purpose before profit, creating a value-focussed community that work towards improving life for people and the impact we have on our planet.
The On Purpose Associate Programme aims to develop leadership for the impact economy through placements, training, mentoring, and coaching. The programme works with inspiring professionals and helps them get stuck in to becoming leaders who harness the power of business for good. Milbank Group host 6-monthly placements for On Purpose Associates who support the work they are doing to make a difference.
